Im Mittelpunkt dieser Studie steht die Analyse von Identitätskonstruktionen und transkulturellen Narrativen in ausgewählten Werken von G. Kuruvilla, I. Scego, L. Wadia und S. Abdel Qader. Der kultur- und literaturwissenschaftliche Zugang dient dem zentralen Anliegen, eine neue Perspektive zur Erforschung der italienischsprachigen Migrationsliteratur zu liefern. Sozialwissenschaftliche Forschungsansätze zu Migration und Identität stellen weitere theoretisch gestützte Erklärungsmechanismen bereit, die für die literarischen Analysen ebenso fruchtbar gemacht werden. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt den eingesetzten erzähltechnischen Methoden und sprachlichen Formen, die in den Texten starre Auffassungen sprachlicher und kultureller Identität auf produktive Weise neu gestalten.

Vorrebbe solo chiudersi in casa, dimenticare il traffico e l’afa, ma ad attenderla in cima trova una sorpresa: un ragazzo con la pelle nera e le gambe lunghe, che le mostra un passaporto. «Mi chiamo Shimeta Ietmgeta Attilaprofeti» le dice, «e tu sei mia zia.» All’inizio Ilaria pensa che sia uno scherzo. Di Attila Profeti lei ne conosce solo uno: è il soprannome di suo padre Attilio, un uomo che di segreti ne ha avuti sempre tanti, e che ora è troppo vecchio per rivelarli. Shimeta dice di essere il nipote di Attilio e della donna con cui è stato durante l’occupazione italiana in Etiopia. E se fosse la verità? È così che Ilaria comincia a dubitare: quante cose, di suo padre, deve ancora scoprire? Le risposte che cerca sono nel passato di tutti noi: di un’Italia che rimuove i ricordi per non affrontarli, che sopravvive sempre senza turbarsi mai, un Paese alla deriva diventato, suo malgrado, il centro dell’Europa delle grandi migrazioni. Con Sangue giusto Francesca Melandri si conferma un’autrice di rara forza e sensibilità. Il suo sguardo, attento e profondissimo, attraversa il Novecento e le sue contraddizioni per raccontare il cuore della nostra identità.
Literature and film generate symbolic as well as economic capital. As such, aesthetic productions exist in various contexts following contrasting rules. Which role(s) do authors and filmmakers play in positioning themselves in this conflictive relation?
Bringing together fourteen essays by scholars from Germany, the USA, the UK and France, this volume examines the multiple ways in which the progressive (self-) fashioning of authors and filmmakers interacts with the public sphere, generating authorial postures, and thus arouses attention. It questions the autonomous nature of the artistic creation and highlights the parallels and differences between the more or less clear-cut national contexts, in order to elucidate the complexity of authorship from a multifaceted perspective, combining contributions from literary and cultural studies, as well as film, media, and communication studies.
Dealing with Authorship, as a transversal venture, brings together reflections on leading critics, exploring works and postures of canonical and non-canonical authors and filmmakers. An uncommon and challenging picture of authorship is explored here, across national and international artistic fields that affect Africa, Europe and America. The volume raises the questions of cultural linkages between South and North, imbalances between the mainstream and the margins in an economic, literary or “racial” dimension, and, more broadly, the relation of power and agency between artists, editors, critics, publics, media and markets.
